Being As You Are Doing

I was having a conversation with two friends, Enrika and Bernadette, and I was admitting to just being. Not doing, not producing, not acting - just being.

They both laughed in recognition. Yes - sometimes, that’s what we need, they agreed.

Sometimes we’re caught up in the doing we forget to just be, we mused.

And sometimes when we’re just being, we aren’t moving forward.

"How can I be while I’m doing?”, Enrika asked.

“Ah, that’s the secret,” said Bernadette. “Figure that out and you’ll have a million people banging down your door to discover your secret.”

“Maybe you can only be while doing if you don’t have a million people banging down your door.” I responded.

“Maybe the key is not paying any attention to the door.”
